We provide a professional residency that integrates seamlessly into your companion’s established routine, offering the expert monitoring and environmental stewardship necessary for your total peace of mind.
Our residency rates are structured by household complexity to ensure that every companion receives dedicated, individualized attention. Final pricing is confirmed during your Private Consultation.
Standard Wellness Residencies
Our standard residencies include evening, overnight, and morning routines with standard professional breaks for the provider.
The 'Solo' Residency | 125 per night: Focused stewardship and overnight care for the single-pet household.
The 'Duo' Residency | 160 per night: Comprehensive care for households with two companions.
The 'Family' Residency (Tiers): Expert management for larger households.
3 Companions | 220 per night
4 Companions | 240 per night
Extended Family: A +50 surcharge applies for a 5th companion.
Capacity Standard: To maintain our rigorous safety protocols and professional liability compliance, we do not accept residencies for households exceeding five (5) total companions. This occupancy limit includes all primary companions (dogs/cats) and habitat-based companions (birds, pocket pets, etc.). Note: Residency tier pricing (Solo/Duo/Family) is determined by the number of primary companions; habitat-based companions are serviced via the Habitat Stewardship Add-On.
Exclusive Constant Care
This tier is exclusively reserved for high-acuity medical needs, post-surgical recovery, or acute separation anxiety.
‘Constant Care’ (Add-On) | +165 per night: This may be added to any residency tier above. It eliminates the 3-hour provider break, ensuring an uninterrupted 24-hour professional presence and "eyes-on" supervision for the duration of the stay.

Our residency services provide meticulous care and mindful attention within the sanctuary of your home. Each stay is curated to include:
Dedicated Overnight Companionship: Your companions enjoy the security and comfort of a professional presence throughout the evening, overnight, and morning hours.
Nutritional & Wellness Management: Precise meal service and hydration monitoring according to your pet’s established dietary schedule.
Curated Enrichment & Movement: Personalized activity sessions, including neighborhood promenades and interactive play tailored to your pet’s unique energy levels.
Professional Hygiene & Stewardship: Daily habitat or litter box maintenance to ensure a pristine and sanitary home environment.
High-Acuity Wellness Monitoring: Professional administration of oral or topical medications following strict safety and timing protocols.
Estate Stewardship: We provide an active overnight presence that enhances home security, alongside basic maintenance including light/blind rotation, waste management, and the retrieval of mail and standard parcels (up to 30 lbs). For oversized or heavy freight deliveries, we kindly ask that you arrange for specialized handling.
Standard Daily Service Reports: Comprehensive digital updates via Time To Pet, including wellness observations, GPS-tracked promenades, and photo updates provided as a professional courtesy when safety and routine permit.
To maintain the Gold Standard of care and ensure our focus remains entirely on your companion’s well-being, our home-related tasks are strictly limited to the following Stewardship Protocol:
Security Maintenance: We provide an active overnight presence, including the rotation of interior lights/blinds and the retrieval of mail and standard parcels (up to 30 lbs) to maintain a secure, "lived-in" appearance.
Refuse Management: We will manage the movement of trash and recycling bins to the curb on designated collection days.
Environmental Oversight: We monitor the home’s climate and utility functionality to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for your companions.
Bespoke Greenery (Add-On): Attentive care for select indoor or patio plants is available as a professional add-on. Please Note: To prioritize pet safety, we do not offer extensive gardening, lawn maintenance, or specialized greenhouse management.
Professional Boundaries: Best Friends Pet Services LLC provides specialized residency stewardship, not general household management or personal assistant services. Our protocol does not include administrative tasks, deep cleaning, or the management of outside contractors unless previously authorized as emergency maintenance. Any request outside this established protocol must be submitted via the Time To Pet portal and may incur additional professional fees.

The Distinguished Stay is designed to provide the comfort of a familiar routine with the security of professional oversight. To maintain the highest quality of care and prevent provider fatigue, our standard residency operates on a 24-hour cycle that includes approximately 21 hours of presence.
Professional Breaks: As is standard in elite pet care, the provider may be away from the residence for brief intervals (typically up to 3 continuous hours per 24-hour cycle) to manage administrative demands and essential errands.
Safety Protocol: Prior to any temporary absence, your pet will receive a wellness break and be secured in a safe, comfortable environment as discussed during your Private Consultation.
Exclusive Constant Care (Add-On): For high-acuity companions requiring an uninterrupted, 100% "eyes-on" presence (due to critical medical needs, post-surgical recovery, or acute separation anxiety), our Constant Care Add-On is mandatory. This specialized service waives the provider break to ensure an un-interrupted 24-hour professional presence.

To ensure the safety and professional precision of our care, we require the following standards:
Verified Health Documentation: Verifiable proof of Rabies vaccination (for dogs/cats) must be uploaded and approved prior to service.
Behavioral & Medical Transparency: Owners are required to provide full disclosure of all known medical conditions or physical limitations. Company oversight is strictly focused on monitoring immediate well-being based on the baseline history provided by the owner.
Emergency Response vs. Clinical Diagnosis: While Company providers are certified in Cat & Dog CPR and Advanced First Aid, these are utilized strictly as emergency response skills for crisis management. The Company is not a veterinary provider and does not diagnose medical ailments.
Identification & Security: All canine and feline companions must wear a secure collar or harness with current ID tags. For small companions and pocket pets, the Company requires verified secure habitats with locking mechanisms to ensure environmental safety. Microchipping is highly recommended for all eligible species.
Secure Household Access: Owners must provide reliable access to the property (e.g., two sets of keys, a secure lockbox, or a verified smart-lock code) at the time of the Private Consultation.
Emergency Preparedness: Owners must provide up-to-date emergency contact information for themselves and a local alternate contact authorized to make decisions in their absence.
Adequate Provisions: Owners are responsible for ensuring a sufficient supply of food, medication, and necessary pet care items for the duration of the scheduled services.
Digital-First Communication: To ensure the highest level of accuracy, all care instructions must be managed through the secure Time To Pet profile. The Company does not accept handwritten notes to ensure no detail of care is overlooked.
Mandatory Climate Standard: To ensure the safety of all companions and the professional well-being of our residency providers, the home must be maintained between 68–78°F (or 75°F or lower for high-acuity pets) for the duration of the residency.
Residency Readiness: In the event of a climate control failure (A/C malfunction) during a residency, the provider will immediately contact the Client or Emergency Advocate to authorize emergency maintenance or the relocation of the companions. The safety of the household is our absolute priority; should an environment become untenable, the provider reserves the right to transition care to a safe secondary location or veterinary facility at the Client's expense.
Right to Refuse & Professional Discretion: To maintain the Gold Standard of safety and the integrity of our professional environment, Best Friends Pet Services LLC reserves the right to refuse service or terminate a care agreement at any time. This includes cases where a companion’s temperament poses a risk to themselves or the care provider, or where a client’s requests fall outside our established Stewardship Protocol. We are committed to a partnership of mutual respect and professional alignment.

Elite Puppy Foundation: +25 per night: Required for all companions under one year of age. This investment ensures dedicated focus on high-frequency relief schedules, sleep-cycle management, and the consistent reinforcement of your established positive training routines.
Feline & Kitten Stewardship: Included—Standard residency rates apply to kittens of all ages.
Habitat Stewardship: +10 per habitat, per day: Specialized oversight for small mammals, birds, or reptiles in enclosures:
Daily Care: Includes nutritional replenishment, fresh water refresh, and spot-cleaning of the immediate living area.
Stewardship Standard: We ensure water vessels are kept hygienic and the habitat remains a clean, professional environment for your companion.
Bespoke Greenery Stewardship: +10 per day: Attentive care for indoor or patio plants; final quote based on volume and complexity.
Professional Service Surcharges
Holiday Observance: +25 per night: Applied to all major holidays and associated holiday weekends.
Priority Booking: +50: Applied to requests made with less than 24-hour notice to accommodate urgent scheduling.
Mandatory Climate Standard & Readiness: To ensure the safety of your companions and the professional well-being of our residency providers, all homes must be maintained between 68–78°F (75°F or lower for high-acuity pets).
Property Readiness: As a professional courtesy, the provider will attempt to rectify minor environmental issues upon arrival. However, any significant time required to resolve property readiness or climate failures is included within the residency stewardship window.
Environmental Crisis Management: In the event of a total climate control failure where the home becomes untenable, the provider reserves the right to relocate the companion(s) to a safe secondary location or veterinary facility. Additional fees will apply for emergency advocacy, transportation, and crisis management.
Professional Travel Protocol: To maintain the punctuality and dedicated focus required for our Stewardship Standards, Best Friends Pet Services LLC operates within a primary service hub centered in La Mesa.
1. The Primary Hub (In-Network)
Residences located within our primary Greater La Mesa hub enjoy our standard investment rates. This proximity allows for seamless transitions between sessions and ensures our "Gold Standard" of care is never compromised by transit variables.
2. The Logistical Travel Surcharge (Out-of-Network)
For residences located outside our primary hub, a Logistical Travel Surcharge is applied to protect the integrity of your pet’s schedule and our provider’s availability.
Promenades & Wellness Visits: A per-visit surcharge (typically $10–$25) is applied to account for the transit buffer required to guarantee our arrival window.
Distinguished Residencies: A nightly logistical premium (typically $20–$50 per night) is applied. This secures our dedicated presence at your estate and offsets the opportunity cost of operating outside our central service hub.
3. Verification & Custom Quotes
To verify if your residence falls within our primary hub or requires a logistical adjustment, please proceed to our Initial Inquiry Form. All travel protocols are confirmed via a Custom Quote based on precise distance and anticipated transit requirements before services are officially secured.

The Commitment Policy: Our residencies involve an exclusive reservation of our calendar for your household. Because we commit our overnight presence and primary daily focus to your home, we decline other overnight residencies for your selected dates. To honor this professional dedication, we adhere to the following schedule:
8+ Days Notice: 100% Refund of service total.
4–7 Days Notice: 50% Refund of service total.
3 Days or Less: 0% Refund (Includes late-notice modifications, no-shows, or inability to access the home).
Secure Payment Infrastructure: To ensure your reservation is finalized, all payments are processed securely through Stripe via the Time To Pet portal. We provide detailed, transparent digital invoicing for every residency.
Absolute Accountability: Every residency is documented via our secure client portal. We provide Standard Daily Service Reports consisting of wellness observations and GPS-tracked promenades. While we include photo updates when safety and routine permit, our primary focus remains the dedicated care and security of your companions.

Prospective Clients: Structured Onboarding
To initiate our partnership, please complete the Phase 1: Secure Initial Inquiry form located on our Get Started page. This allows our team to assess your household’s objectives and ensure alignment with our Stewardship Standards. If a potential match is determined, we will provide a Preliminary Stewardship Plan and an invitation to your Private Consultation.
Established Clients: Centralized Management
For your convenience, all residency requests, schedule modifications, and care strategy updates are managed through your secure Time To Pet portal. This ensures a centralized, time-stamped record for every aspect of your companion’s care and estate security.
Reserved Commitment: Finalizing Your Residency
Following a successful Private Consultation and professional profile integration, residency requests are submitted via the portal as Pending Requests. Upon review and approval by our team, a signed Stewardship Agreement and full payment are required to finalize the booking. Services are officially added to the schedule once the Approved status is confirmed and the commitment is finalized.
